Eye Makeup 

‘Point makeup’ is the name for what Koreans call their eye makeup as they want their eyes to be the main point on their face. The distinct Korean eye makeup looks include the ‘puppy eyes’ (cute eye bags below your eyes). 

For their eyeshadows, they prefer to use only one color on the eyelids for a more natural look rather than having too much makeup piled on. Koreans usually use neutral or light colors, such as brown, coral, pink. Tip for which color you should put on, try to swatch different shades and tones of eyeshadows to find the right color that suits your skin tone. 

Also, try to avoid bold black eyeliners since we are aiming for a natural look. You can opt for a brown eyeliner for a softer look. To get the puppy eyes look, line your eyes in a manner that the outer and extends outwards and downwards. 

Asian women tend to have short and straight eyelashes, but what are eyelash curlers and mascaras are for, right? Try to choose a mascara that’s waterproof and smudge-proof to prevent yourself from looking like a panda nearer the end of the day.

Straight Brows 

Your brows have a huge role in shaping your face. For a youthful and innocent Korean look is to have straight brows with a little arc at the end. Try to look at photos of Korean female celebrities, you would always see that they shape and fill their brows in a straight manner. 

Although this is the trend in Korea, bear in mind that there are certain brow shapes that may work for others that may not work for you. Before doing your eyebrow makeup, try to find out which shape would suit the shape of your face.  

When filling in your brows, start with light strokes at the beginning of your brows and gently work your way to the end, tapering it down to a point. You can use an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow powder, whichever you’re more comfortable with. Remember to put a slight arc near the end of the brow, and the arc should begin around the outer corner of your eye. Then blend out any harsh edges with a spoolie. 

Blush 

Of course, if we want a healthy glow back onto the face, we need to add color to it. You can use powder, cream, or liquid blushers, depending on your preferences. For starters, you can use a powder blush so that it won’t be difficult for you to blend the product. 

To apply them, try placing the blush from high points of your cheeks, meaning the apples of your cheeks and working your way out towards your temples and blend it well. This will give the impression that the glow is coming naturally from within. Koreans like to use blushers in the shade of coral and rosy pink as it greatly complements their skin tone. 

Gradient Lips 

For the last part of the whole Korean makeup look, a gradient lip is the one to go to. This lip trend actually originated from Korea and has been the trend that has taken over the world. This look is very soft and youthful but makes the lips look fuller and gives the appearance of the tantalizingly just-bitten effect. 

The technique to a gradient lip is very easy, use a darker shade on the inner lips, and then use a lip brush or your finger to blend it outwards to create a gradient effect. Some use concealers on for the outer part of lips but you can now buy two-tone lipsticks, with just one swipe and no need for blending. A great tip I can give you is to top it off with a clear lip gloss for a juicy and succulent look.
