Our skin begins to act differently when the season changes and requires a whole new skincare routine. You obviously cannot buy a complete new range of products with every little change in the weather. But what you can do is make use of the ingredients in your kitchen as per your skin needs and make your own effective face packs.

Skin looks and feels extremely dry and flaky in winter. In order to prevent it from wrinkles, dryness and dullness, you must lock the moisture in your face.

Here are some of the amazing DIY face masks for keeping your winter skin soft and supple:

avocado

Avocado Mask

Avocado is extremely rich in fat and vitamin E. When combined with nourishing face oils, milk or yogurt, it can turn into an ultimate treat for the winter skin.

All you need to do is take some yogurt out with the help of a quality measuring spoon for accuracy in a blender and add half avocado’s pulp in it. Blend the ingredients together and take them out in a bowl. Add two drops of your favorite face oil if you feel your skin needs extra moisture. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it with cold water.

Applying it once or twice a week can help in locking the moisture in the skin and keep the wrinkles away.

honey

Honey and Oatmeal Mask

Honey is not only moisturizing but has great antibacterial properties that help kill the bacteria and inflammation in the skin. On the other hand, oatmeal is full of amino acids that moisturize the skin. It also helps in mild exfoliation.

Just take a spoonful of oatmeal and add one teaspoon of honey in it. Mix the ingredients together and apply it on the skin. Leave it on the skin for about 10 minutes and then start scrubbing it off the skin in circular motions. It will help you get rid of the dead skin. Do not use this mask more than once a week.

bananas

Banana Mask

Banana is rich in vitamin C which is a great antioxidant for aging skin. It helps brighten up the dull and dry skin immediately. When you add it to the creamy yogurt, the mixture becomes just the perfect face pack for the dry and dead skin.

Take a ripe banana in a bowl and mash it well. Add a tablespoon of yogurt and only a drop of olive oil. Mix them all together and apply the paste on your face evenly.  Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash your face.

You can apply this mask two to three times a week because it is very mild on the skin and it helps in keeping it moisturized during winter.
