Spring is on its way and we have selected a whole host of fabulously pretty styles to draw inspiration from. The catwalks were awash with fresh-faced, natural, pretty looks with bursts of color and a soft fairytale finish to them. So, here are a few tips for a great makeup in the spring-summer season of 2010.

Spring 2010 trends promise that pinks will be prevalent in an amalgamation of tones — from pale hibiscus to rose to a heartier mulberry — with a dash of pomegranate tossed in to honor spring’s burgeoning succulence.

To accentuate the natural beauty of your face, follow these important steps:

1. Moisturize

It’s important to start with moisturized, healthy skin. Use a light moisturizer and eye cream.

Suggestions: Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream, Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream.

2. Conceal

The trick to pulling off the natural look is to have the appearance of a flawless face. Thus, concealer is VERY important. Use concealer to cover any discoloration you have, especially dark circles. Use a concealer brush or pat on with your fingers. Go for a yellow concealer to cover especially dark circles.

And after that come with these tricks to create a perfect makeup for spring.

Eye shadows:
This spring’s makeup features on eyes. Many cosmetic brands promote lovely shadows, from peach to violet, blue to soft green.

  • Pink: Use light or shimmer color as the base before putting pink. With pink and peach shades, you can go from day to evening looking chic.
  • Violet: Violet looks matured and charming. It’s perfect for all ages and most skin tones..
  • Pearl gray: The neutral color keeps you looking fresh.

For cheeks:
The tip for choosing and using powder is to use a powder brush, not a puff and if you do decide to use a pressed powder, make sure it is of a high quality and is the correct shade as they can often be chalky looking. I recommend Clinique, and Chanel for the pressed variety.

Natural lips:
Every woman should have that perfect lipstick color that looks great even when she’s not wearing any other makeup. This season, I’m playing up the natural color of the lips. To get soft definition (and because there’s nothing worse than an obvious line between your lipstick and your liner), line lips with a creamy lip liner — after you apply your lipstick. This will also keep your lipstick from feathering.
