What Are Pimples?

Pimples forms on clogged skin pores with excess of oil and dead skin cells which forms a great environment for bacteria development. They cause local swelling and redness.

Pimples or Acne Are the Same Thing?

Pimples appear once in a while. But if they appear on a greater surface with many pus-filled pimples on your face or neck, it is acne — a chronic (or long-term) condition that mainly affects teens (because of hormones imbalance). But don’t worry, there are a lot of treatment solutions for acne.

Acne often comes in form of more inflamed pimples that are a clogged pores (with oil) that get infected by bacteria making skin red and sore and are often filled with puss.

If you found a painful pimple that is deeper beneath your skin, that’s called cystic acne and it can last up to 10 days. There are over-the-counter treatments for this so, ask your pharmacist. If it lasts for more then 2 weeks, maybe it’s time to see a doctor, it could be a sign of a weak immune system.

So, pimples form when the skin produces too much oil from time to time, acne is a condition and should be treated. If you get many pimples often, I suggest to see a dermatologist, to start a mild treatment as soon as possible.

There is also bacne or back acne that can form from wearing tight clothes or heavy backpacks or it can form from neglecting that area between your scapular bones from proper cleaning. Use a back body brush with a longer handle or a bath belt to reach there and you’ll be fine.

Types of Acne or Pimples

What Is the Difference Between Blackheads and Whiteheads

Whiteheads are pimples that forms on closed pores that build up oil excess. They are not infected with bacteria and are not red or swollen (too much).

Blackheads on the other hand are pimples that forms on opened pores that are exposed to air and gets oxidized, turning their color to grey.

Whether your skin tends to form more whiteheads or blackheads, it’s up to your genetic markup, it’s not that you treat your skin differently.

How Can I Get Rid of Pimples Fast (Maybe Overnight)?

You know that feeling when right before going to bed you see a big pimple on your face and you realize that tomorrow it’s your big date with destiny, right?

Well, let’s do something about it!

  1. First, wash your face with a cleanser that has the right ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
  2. Optional: Get a medicine that reduces the size of the pimple and put it right on the pimple. An oil-free formula should be great in helping your skin on that area.
  3. Now, we recommend several home made ideas:
    1. Toothpaste.  Dub a little toothpaste on your pimple and let it for 1-3 hours.
    2. Vinegar. Dunk a cotton ball into a solution of 1 part vinegar with 3 parts of water and apply on the pimple. Leave it for 1-2 hours and then wash. Some leave it overnight, but be careful not to dry your skin too much.
    3. Ice. Wrap an ice cube in a piece of cloth and press on your pimple for several minutes. Repeat the process while Facetiming about it with your BFF. 🙂
    4. Baking soda with lemon juice. Mix some baking soda with lemon juice and prepare a paste. Apply on your pimple and let it action for several minutes then clear your face with warm water. Repeat the process for several time.
    5. Aspirin. Mix 1 part Aspirin and 3 parts of water and form a paste. Apply it on your pimple and let it action for 30 minutes.

If the next morning your find the pimple still there, use our makeup beauty tip: use green concealer. Seriously, the green and the red from the pimple will color-balance out. Then apply an oil-free foundation that matches your skin tone and cover it out.

Can I Prevent the Pimples From Appearing?

Of course! Stick to your evening routine for preventing the undesired surprises in the morning!

  • Wash your face one or two times a day. More then two times a day could be useless and can lead the face skin to over-produce oil, depending on your genetic markup and your face skin type.
  • Don’t rub the face with a harsh towel, to prevent further irritation. A gentle rub with a regular towel should be enough.
  • Moisturize the face with a “noncomedogenic” cream that will not cause acne.
  • Use a regular anti-acne product with ingredients such as salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, lactic acid or glycolic acid which cut off bacteria and dry your skin.
  • Very important: keep your hands off your face for obvious reasons: our hands touches a lot of dirty objects over the day. It is considered that a smartphone can have more then 20 times more bacteria then a toilet seat!
