Beauty Tips for Face

I will add here tips and tricks while I will discover them and make my research on them.

Beauty Tip #1: Cut Down Your Sugar Intake and Too Much Carbs for an Acne-Free Face Skin

High glycemic foods will cause your blood sugar to spike and consequently the level of insulin produced, leading to inflammation-producing enzymes which attach to your body’s collagen through an oxidative process known as glycation. This process breaks down collagen and elastin, contributing to aged, wrinkled looking skin. Glycation not only increases the appearance of aging, but can also aggravate particular skin conditions such as acne and rosacea.

So, the first beauty tip for your face is to slow down your sugary foods and carbs. The results on your face can be seen in as quick as 30 days.

Beauty Tip #2: Don’t Forget to Clean Off Your Face Before Sleep – Maybe the Smartest Beauty Tip for Face Care Ever!

We cannot stress enough about the importance of this beauty tip! (here, here and everywhere on Beautips). You may be asking yourself:

Is My Face That Dirty?

There are three sources of residual bacteria on our face that’s building up during the day:

  1. Air pollution. For the lucky ones that live outside the city area, near a forest, that’s great! But for us, the daily city dwellers, different kind of pollution is ruining our skin with chemicals and microscopic debris.
  2. Touching the face. Our hands are in constant contact with a lot of surfaces: handles, tables, not to mention somebody else’s hands, when we greet. We maybe wash our hands a few times a day, but we don’t do this with our face, because we will have to redo our makeup, right?
  3. Buildup from the makeup. The makeup clogs our pores, and the skin keeps producing oil, sweat and dead skin cells. Under the makeup, those dead cells begin the bio decomposition process and that’s infection!

That’s basically the short list for the reasons why cleaning your face before bed is maybe the greatest beauty tip for face care we can give you.

Beauty Tip #3: Give Your Face Plenty of Sleep

We’ve covered this topic before, and we concluded that 7 to 8 hours of beauty sleep a day makes wonders to your skin (and your body health, overall).

What Does Sleep Deprivation to My Skin?

Daily stress ages our skin, due to the release of cortisol, but during the night sleep, the body’s cells regenerate and heal, through the release of melatonin and somatotropin (growth hormone), which has an incredible effect on our skin and immune system. Because of the regenerative processes that take place during sleep, our skin gets the time and hormones needed to iron out those wrinkles and to regulate the oils that our skin produces.

Beauty Tip #4: Wear Sunglasses to Protect the Skin Around Your Eyes

Ok, so this is not a beauty tip that you hear a lot, but is somewhat obvious: beside the benefits to your eyes and vision, wearing sunglasses will protect your skin around your eyes.

Why Should I Protect the Skin Around My Eyes?

  1. Because it is more prone to wrinkles from the expression muscles around the eyes – that serve also as mechanisms of force closing the eyes, in case of emergency (dusty wind – for example)
  2. Because the eye contact we do with other people make us notice the area just around the eyes more easily.

Beauty Tip #5: Wear Sunscreen or Avoid UV Exposure as Much as You Can

“A tan is literally your body’s response to being injured by UV exposure,” says Darrell Rigel, MD, a clinical professor of dermatology at New York University Medical Center. When your cells are exposed to UV light, they produce more melanin, the pigment that colors your skin, which is why you tan. But this is a sign that damage has already been done, not protection against future sun exposure.

Is It True That Sunscreen Creams Get Skin Cancer?

You may have heard claims that certain sunscreen ingredients can be carcinogenic or have estrogen-like effects on the body. While this is a controversial area, there are no studies that demonstrate this. In one study, the lab rats where exposed to oxybenzone, used in many sunscreens that can produce free radicals that may harm the skin but the quantity used was unrealistic. “If you used SPF 30 every day and applied it thoroughly to your entire body, it would take 35 years to reach the level of exposure that the rats did,” – said one doctor close to the experiment.

Bottom line:

  • Stay as little as possible in the sun, 15 minutes is enough for Vitamin D production.
  • If you need to stay in the sun longer, wear sunscreen on your face. The risk of not using sunscreen is much higher than wearing it.

Beauty Tip #6: Wash Your Face Twice a Day, Not Only in the Evening

General wisdom is that you should wash your face once, before going to sleep. But, according to Dr Natasha Cook, cleansing in the morning is just as important.

Cleansing in the morning is good to prepare for your application of your daily serums and skincare

she told Daily Mail Australia

But What Face Cleansers to Use?

We recommend cleansers that are non-foaming, with moisturising ingredients like glycerine, and anti-inflammatories like Niacinimide or Vitamin B3.

If we use scrubs and foaming products it strips the barrier away from the epidermis – which is vital for healthy high-functioning skin. Foaming and scrub-like cleansers aggravate rosacea, inflammation, sensitivity and ageing of the skin.
